Goals for Photography, Path Making, and BooneLive.com

Well hellfire and devily pitts, its 2013 and there’s schnitt to be done!

Plans for BooneLive v2013Luckily, whether you decide to celebrate or not, it came all over the world, for 24 hours straight as a matter of fact, with stamina! And left the world dripping in with excitement, jubilation, and a whole slew soon-to-be-broken resolutions, so they say. With the new year here, and 2013 a certain year of dastardly business (that’s ‘busy-ness’), I’m going to be reaching out to the internet communities (frighteningly dangerous, I know) for tips and quips and shares of experience as I push forward with BooneLive,Internet Pathing (all that ish about internet inbound marketing and such), and Photography.

BooneLive (or, Boone Live with a space if you like)

BooneLive, emphasized thusly because it is the project that has been small babychild of my little heart thing, is my primary side focus for the time being. It’s great, I get to use my camera, I get to see a helluva wide variety of live music shows, I get to meet the plenteous throngs of band peoples, and  I get to stroke my inner Portlandian and support local things.

Through the times, all the the ages of your an’ that, I’ve learned some things and made some good stuff. And, as you do, I’ve learned some things and had some heartbreaking calamity of the shyte sound, dead battery, late record button pressage, and corrupyed filey persuasion. But I got over that. Now, what I want for 2013 is for BooneLive to grow even further. The goals of promoting small & local bands, local venues, and the people that make live music in Boone a reality are shakin their hackles, they’re preparing to stand up and be counted HERE HERE!

What does all that mean? I’m so very glad to cared to ask!

  1. Robusticize the BooneLive Calendar Feed
    • Increase from 1 feed (The Loven House Underground) to several, such as Black Cat Burrito, 641 RPM, and Boone Saloon where live musics are frequent. That means that Black Cat & et. al. will have to groom their disheveled or yet to be born Facebook Pages. Baby steps.
  2. Increase the Variety of Music on BooneLive
    • Right now there’s a variety of music on BooneLive, from country western and folk to rock, punk, and experimental. In 2013 I want to continue that trend by working with other venues and events to record music over the wider spectrum that visits this mountain town. We’ll see what happens, we’ll see what kind of finaglings I can focus on to help streamline this one-man recording show.
  3. Increase the Speed at which BooneLive Videos are Posted
    • From 8am-5pm or so I work one of those day-jobby things, from 5pm or so – 11pm or so I work on BooneLive, Photography, miscellaneous imaging design, video editing, and other website projects. The contributors to BooneLive are a huge help to the ’cause’ and I hope to enlist the help of a few others who want to learn, make mistakes, and be creative with live music documenting.

Photography

TAKE MORE DAMN PHOTOS! What’s the ish? i used to take a full card a week! It’s taking a lot of my time and card space to get these video up, and it’s been fun. But when do I take photos? I’ve been slackin, I’ve been falling behind. I might just have to hire a photo Sherpa to poke me with a hoary stick when I don’t take at least one photo a day. Hm… that’s a business idea right there!

Path Making

Ok, so its not as ‘mystical’ as it sounds. No smelly candles, no incense. Path making, marketing, SEO, inbound marketing, whatever you want to call it it’s all the same, really. Telling people and the webbernets how to get to your websites. So, get to my sites… that’s about all it takes, right? ;)

I think those are good, short-ish term and attainable goal things for the first part of 2013, no? They are direct and they build on what has already been accomplished. 12 shows with over 30 videos up on BooneLive, here’s a glass to kickin’d down the doors of 2013. Cheers!
